Jendelakaba.com — Bandar kripto Su Zhu ditangkap Otoritas Singapura, pendiri dari manajemen aset kripto Three Arrows Capital (3AC). Ia ditahan ketika hendak kabur dari negeri tetangga RI tersebut.
Tim penegak hukum mengatakan Zhu diamankan di Bandara Changi, Singapura, pada Jumat (29/9) pekan lalu, dikutip dari CNBC International.
Firma penasihat keuangan yang menangani proses likuidasi 3AC, Teneo, mengatakan Zhu dan co-founder 3AC Kyle Davies masing-masing dijatuhkan hukuman penjara empat bulan. Namun, hingga kini belum diketahui keberadaan Davies.
Pengadilan Singapura mengatakan Zhu tak kooperatif dalam proses investigasi yang dilakukan Teneo. Hal ini menyusul kasus gagal bayar ke kreditor.
Pada 2022 lalu, 3AC manangani aset senilai US$ 10 miliar atau setara Rp 155,5 triliun. Angka itu membuat 3AC sebagai salah satu firma manajemen aset kripto terbesar di dunia.
Pada pertengahan 2022, 3AC mengumumkan bangkrut setelah nilai mata uang kripto anjlok. Selain itu, 3AC juga dinilai menjalankan strategi perdagangan kripto yang berisiko, sehingga tak mampu membayar aset yang mereka pinjam.
Tim kepolisian diperintahkan untuk menangkap Davies agar bisa menjalankan hukumannya selama 4 bulan di penjara.
Ketika Zhu dalam penanganan penegak hukum, Teneo mengatakan akan menyelidiki lebih lanjut soal kasus 3AC. Fokusnya untuk memulihkan aset yang digunakan sebagai properti 3AC atau diakuisis menggunakan pendanaan perusahaan tersebut.
“Dalam proses penyelidikan, prioritas kami adalah memulihkan aset 3AC dan memaksimalkan pengembalian dana ke para kreditor yang menjadi korban,” kata Teneo dalam keterangan resminya.
Pada Januari lalu, Zhu dan Davies dilaporkan berupaya mendekati para investor untuk membuat perusahaan baru yang dinamai GTX.
Otoritas keuangan Singapura telah melarang keduanya untuk melakukan aktivitas investasi selama 9 tahun, menurut keterangan Teneo. ***
